Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center

Our volunteers are essential to the success
of Wil-Mar!

More than 600 volunteers give their time each year through Wil-Mar events and fundraisers. Many opportunities are perfect for friends, co-workers, service organizations, and families to do together-and most volunteer shifts are just 3 or 4 hours!

Volunteer at a festival as a beverage pourer:

Arguably the most fun volunteer opportunity in the summer in Madison—for 3 hours, you’ll pour beer and ring folks up. Enjoy all the joy and liveliness of the event while giving back! A perfect opportunity for groups of friends, coworkers, or family, or anyone looking to meet more like-minded individuals in their community!

Volunteer with event set-up and tear-down:

For those looking for a more hands-on, behind-the-scenes approach, consider becoming a member of the Festival crew! You’ll help with basic set-up and tear-down before and after the festivals. Most volunteers give 3-6 hours of their time; this is a perfect opportunity for service groups and young folks looking to gain some real-world experience on resumes and applications.

Mailing & Lit Drop

Team!

Assist with mailings and lit drops to support Wil-Mar’s outreach efforts. These take place throughout the year; volunteer shifts are very casual and can be tailored to fit your schedule. Most volunteer shifts are about 2 hours; both individuals and groups are welcome. While it might not be glamorous, it is incredibly helpful to the small Wil-Mar staff!

Holiday Pie Sale!

On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, we make approximately 800 pies for our neighbors and friends! This has been one of our longest-running fundraising efforts, and is also the sweetest! Volunteers are needed for every aspect—to prep the pie ingredients, to fold and label boxes, to assemble the pies, and to wrap the pies when they’re done cooling. Shifts are 3-4 hours long, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
